Floyd Shivambu said that the Economic Freedom Fighters would "win some of the provinces" in the 2014 general elections, ahead of the party's official launch on Thursday.
"We are going to contest power and we are going to win some of the provinces. We will probably make a huge shake-up of the National Assembly and we will take it from there," Shivambu said, according to The Star.
The former ANCYL spokesperson added that "with the declining integrity, we're going to be the government in less than 15 years. We will be the government of South Africa. That's the reality".
According to reports, Shivambu is expected to be named as the party's policy head.
"There is a huge possibility that we might win North West, Free State as well, because comrades who were working with comrade [Mpho] Ramakatsa are on board," Shivambu said. Ramakatsa recently led a group of ANC members to a court victory forcing the disbandment of the Free State provincial executive committee.
Shivambu said that Julius Malema's EFF would not work with other opposition parties.
"We will never, never align with the DA or Agang. It will never happen. They represent something which we don't agree with and everything else," Shivambu told the newspaper.
