Residents in Diepkloof extension three, in Soweto, have called on Eskom to replace their decaying groceries after being without power for nine days.

They say several complaints have been lodged with the utility but claim Eskom replied with empty promises.

One disgruntled man claims that residents in the area have lost groceries valued at hundreds of rand.

Eskom has been unavailable for comment.
