Zimbabwean police fired shots Friday to disperse opposition
supporters from a police station where their ministerial nominee Roy
Bennett was taken after arrest, shortly before he was due to be sworn
in, the MDC party said.
"Police have started firing live ammunition in the air and have
brought dogs in an attempt to disperse hundreds of MDC supporters that
had surrounded Mutare police station," The Movement for Democratic
Change said in a statement.
