Tough guy Clint Eastwood, looking frailer than in his glory days as a gunslinging cowboy actor, invoked his most famous line at the Republican convention Thursday, urging voters to "make my day."
Eastwood (82) brought thousands of delegates, party big-wigs, politicians and observers to their feet when he walked out on the convention stage to tout the credentials of Republican nominee Mitt Romney.
"I think it may be time for, what do you think, maybe a businessman," said Eastwood, who endorsed Romney and backed Republican nominee John McCain in 2008.
"When somebody does not do the job, you've got to let them go," he said of President Barack Obama.
Eastwood taped a high-profile commercial this year for Chrysler - one of the companies saved in Obama's auto bailout - that aired during the Super Bowl, leading to speculation that Eastwood might endorse Obama in 2012.
But the actor shot down any political association with Obama shortly after the ad aired, saying it was meant as "a message about job growth".
